How to curb a bad nail biting habit?

I have a very bad nervous habit of biting my nails. I’m surprised they haven’t gotten infected, but the skin around them is messed up from years of biting them.

I'm not a medical person, but I do have some mild anxiety issues.

I don't bite nails, but my hands sort of restless and I will have some finger movements unintentionally.

I'm glad I can intentionally detect the movements and then intentionally stop it.

It takes a lot of mind effort to do that.

Then to further relax myself, I learn to sit and do non-religious "meditation".

No, I don't recite anything neither do I engage in rituals.

Before bed, I just sit upright on bed and closed my eyes.

Then I think of a complex problem in life. Like what it means to be harmonious?

There is no answer. It just lead from one thought to another.

And when I felt sleepy (after about 15 minutes) I'll tuck in. Usually it'll lead to a nice slumber.

It helped me. I hope it can do a little good to you.

And yes, take life easy. Don't expect too much. Instead consider wise giving. It warms the heart.

Trim them short. Keep yourself busy.
If you can't stop yourself, speak to you doctor.

Have you tried specialised anti-biting polish? That one - you will never bite into.

Put clippers in your pocket or on your keychain. Or in your car and clip them at the stoplight:

Use anti nail biting nail polish. You will regret you were born the moment you taste it. It is the most bitter substance you have ever known.

I can’t really do anything with my current job. I work with food said that not really anything I can do but I’m trying to get a different job where it won’t matter then I could yes

I think there is something you can put on your nails that tastes terrible, maybe ask a clerk at a drug store
