I've had a bath and put anti infection cream on it, along with an anti adhesive pad and then wrapped it up in a bandage.
Did I do the correct thing? How do I keep this blister from getting infected?
You're off to a good start by cleaning and applying antibiotic ointment to the blister. Here are some additional tips to help it heal properly:
• Keep the bandage/pad clean and dry. Change it daily or anytime it gets wet or dirty. Moisture and bacteria buildup can promote infection.
• Apply antibiotic ointment before putting on a fresh bandage. This will coat the wound and form a protective barrier against germs.
• Wear clean, comfortable shoes that don't rub against the blister. Opt for sandals with lots of space for your toes and blister breathing room.
• Elevate your foot as much as possible. This helps reduce inflammation, swelling and discomfort from the blister.
• Watch for signs of infection: increased pain, redness, warmth, pus drainage, swelling that spreads. If these develop, see a doctor.
• Air it out when you can. Go without a bandage or shoe for short periods, especially at night while sleeping. This allows the blister to dry out.
• Consider draining large, fluid-filled blisters. Once numbed and sterilized, pop the blister gently with a sterile needle to drain fluid. Then bandage as usual.
• Take an over-the-counter pain reliever as needed for discomfort. Ibuprofen or acetaminophen can help.
• See a doctor if the blister isn't healing within a week, becomes excessively painful or shows clear signs of infection. They may drain and debride the wound.
With proper cleaning, ointment, bandaging, ventilation and elevation, your blister stands a good chance of healing smoothly on its own. But be on the lookout for changes that indicate a possible infection brewing.
It sounds like you're doing the right things to keep your blister from getting infected. Keep the area clean and dry, and apply an anti-infection cream or ointment as directed. You can also cover the blister with a bandage to protect it from further irritation. If the blister is large or painful, you may want to see a doctor to have it drained.
Hope this advice is helpful! Let me know if you have any other questions.
A hydrocolloid dressing is the best thing to protect a blister, they protect cushion and help heal the blister, though you may need to use Micropore tape to hole the plaster in place, as for pain and inflammation use Ibuprofen or similar.
You should be fine as long as you keep it clean, sanitized, and wrapped up to prevent aggravating it.
If there's no change or gets worse, I recommend seeing your Doctor.
Thanks!

Put some antibacterial cream on it and keep it covered with a band-aid, etc.
Band aid (plaster) with triple antibiotic ointment on it
You keep replacing pads and disinfecting until the wound closes up
You want to put some coconut oil and aloe vera gel on it. Watch it heal good 😉
Keep it clean and dry.
Keep it clean
