How do you forget about work when it causes a panic attack?

You didn't say what's happening in your employment. Mabe your works probably a little toxic for you. Maybe it's time for you to search for a new position. It's quite stressful or maybe improve your skills in your position. It depends on what's going on.

So far I guess I've been fortunate enough to not have a panic attack at work. From my understanding of them, you kind of shut down, no? Perhaps I've never had one because if I just shut down at work I'd be dead. How long do they last?

Do something you have a positive connection to. I go work out because nothing there I connect with my work. I also listen to motivating music and it takes my mind from my work.

Put my mind on anything else.

If it's extra bad, I occupy hands too like building Lego or even writing with a pen -- focuses my mind.

Try picturing the good things about work but I'm curious on what happened? Is it the camp or the K9 wielding?

It's hard. Had an old boss I hated working with even playing with my kids wouldn't distract me for long. I moved jobs

A panic attack usually lasts no more than half an hour. If it's a severe problem you can get meds for it but you might not like the side effects.

Luckily work has never caused a panic attack with me. I would just try to think of something else that might be more soothing and enjoyable
