I work in the front desk at my job and it’s common to have to repeat rules and regulations with different individuals that aren’t abiding by the rules. I’m a confident woman and I have no issue laying down the boundaries without intimidation. However, I’ve had a history of anxiety prior to my job. I recently discovered during confrontation I believe I experience anxiety or panic attacks and as I stand up to hand another visitor a pass my hands began to Trimble uncontrollably.
I had no idea the situation triggered me until I noticed this reoccurring situation when I’m dealing with specific visitors. I have to rub my arms and breathe hoping that I can calm my body down. I know I have anxiety disorder but this part sorta makes me emotional because I’m trying to get my body to relax.
Any tips?
Anxiety attacks are really the worst. Sorry that you have to go through with that.
I normally avoid drinking any caffeine or energy drinks. I honestly love coffee a lot but it really does amplify anxiety attacks by making them worse. I normally take deep breaths and take a 10 minute break to refresh myself.
Everyone is a little different, I’m not sure what way work works best for you. I’d highly recommend selling a therapist to provide you with professional help.

May I suggest that even successful people are idiots. I found that to be the case when I worked at the airport. I would just remain calm and look at people like I was a teacher in kindergarten.
I understand. Good for you for recognizing this. Personally, I can’t work in an environment that triggers anxiety or panic attacks. Might have to change your work environment to maintain or heal your sanity.
You are very strong. You could be my greatest enemy and I applaud you for your strength as I have struggle brgore with what it could seem like terror and doom in a situation that totally overwhelmed me.
