    • It's 80% diet and 20% exercise for FAT loss so I advise to focus on diet first so you have enough motivation/willpower to go for long term and just focus on one thing

exercising for overweight people can be tiring and too heavy for your body bc u have excess weight so I advise to exercise in the middle of your weight loss journey , like after u feel lighter and less heavy

    • Plus I used to go to they gym 2 hrs everyday and sometimes 3 hrs and I got my leg muscle twisted or I don't know something like that (it happens to football players and to people who are new fitness) so I advise to start later on exercising

Another thing is that u should hold the habit of going to the gym bc in 2 months most people will quit or procrastinate and won't show up , soooo, start by going 5 mins (duration doesn't matter , what matters is the consistency and you'll eventually do more than 5 mins but 5 mins is easier mentally to get u up ) to the gym or just preparing the gym clothes EVERYDAY so it becomes a habit :D

    • u have to work on weight loss by doing the inner work and by that u have to get to know if u have emotional eating (numbing your feelings) or if weight gain is a symptom of not feeling safe or lack of self worth so I suggest doing that first bc the weight will return and won't be kept off bc the root of the problem isn't healed (most people gain back the weight bc they didn't do the inner work and that's why yo yo dieting is popular)

It’s fine. I usually do 2 hours of muscles. And then walk 2 miles, and then pool, then sauna, and then jacuzzi. so I end up being there almost 4 hours in total.

Im not gonna be paying $30 monthly to not go. That’s my hard earned cash. I think I’m mainly going because of the pool though. It’s summer and I want a pool. I remember I mainly signed up for the pool. But now I’m using everything. Why the hell not. I’ll take advantage of what im paying for. So do exactly that. TAKE ADVANTAGE!

It's not a trip to the gym but, when I was in a band (drummer), we'd play 2 to 4 hour gigs!! One day, we did a full 8 hour gig!! It would also take me a good bit of walking to get to the rehearsal house before the gig where I'd have to tear down my drums and carry them upstairs (several trips) to the car out front. Then, we'd get to the venue and I'd have to make another several trips to get them back stage where I'd spend 20:00 or so setting them up and then, if they had a pool table, I'd spend several hours running around that until it was time to go on stage. After the gig, I'd have to take several more trips taking them out to the car and several more back into the basement! After all that, I'd walk home, about 8 miles. It never hurt me and I doubt your 2 hours in the gym would hurt you or even compare to a gig night for me.

Depends on the workout, but if you are taking that long it can be detrimental because if you are taking too long between sets in your workout you are losing proper muscle burning and consistency. Starting and stopping during a workout is not ideal, you want to stay moving for bloodflow and cardio as well to keep muscles going.

Short rests between sets is fine, but don't be waiting more than five minutes between each set. Body needs short rests in between, ideally no more than 90 seconds.

    for the most part yes

you don't need to be in the gym for 2 hours. 30 minutes of intense exercise is enough

there are a lot of people in gyms who just sit there twiddling on their phones, scrolling through social media not working out while others are waiting for them to get off their machines

I don’t go to gym but I workout from home. It usually takes 30 minutes for me to finish the whole sets. I think it depends on your intensity and volume but I do feel that an hour maximum is good enough to see result if you are consistent. Overtraining can do more harm than good to your body.

Depends what you're doing and what you're trying to achieve. If it's cardio, I'd say probably.

Strength training takes a while if you think 5 mins rest per exercise.

It also depends how you structure your routine throughout the week.

I have two heavy 2+ hour sessions and two quite heavy 1.5 hour sessions per week.

If I worked out every day I'd have to reduce the time etc.

    Rest is important, too.

When inused to go I would do mainly cardio. I'd do about an hour. If I were doing some weight machines maybe an hour and a half. For me 2 hours would be a long time. Having said that, if I were to rejoin now, on top of cardio and weight machines I would go for a swim so maybe would hit 2 hours. I wouldn't say it were overly excessive.

If one has no other interests than to satisfy ones vanity, then two hours seem appropriate.

After all - much of this time is spent to admire oneself in some mirror.

In my own real life I get my fitness throughout the day by selecting this or that physical challenge. If that's at work, I even get paid for it :D

You can get a lot of good working out in, but the more important thing is being consistent. If you always feel like you gotta work out for two hours every day every other day it may be complicated for you so at least do something better than nothing.

I just did legs along with some cardio. Walking on treadmill 10 min. Sumo squats, leg presses, hamstring curls, leg extensions, calve raises and then running up and down stairs for a good 15 minutes. Took me an hour and a half. If I had done upper body it would have taken a few more hours. Just depends on experience and how often you go.

No, but ultimately depends on the workout. I like to spend 1-2 hours getting a proper workout done. Less than an hour is rushed and makes me sore the next day. You need time to properly stretch and workout.

Nah. Sounds pretty normal if you're counting warm up, post workout stretch, and a detailed program.

You don't need to spend that much time, though. But if you like it, go for it.

Unless you're training for endurance, yeah. Training intensely beyond an hour increase the production of cortisol, which is catabolic, as in it reduces muscle gain.

It depends on the intensity less on the time you spend in the gym. To me it doesn´t sound necessary but I can´t say it´s too long.

If you're losing weight then it's better to exercise longer and tire yourself out; if you're gaining weight then it's better to exercise shorter but sort of tire yourself out

Yes, it is too long. But then again workouts that should only be about an hour to an hour and 15 minutes end up becoming two hours long because people take forever on machines, and they are not courteous. So yes two hours is way too long

No that’s normal, I’m usually 2-3 hours on weights then tack on any cardio if I decide to. If you’re doing proper warmups and rest intervals it’s easy to be 20-30 minutes per lift

If you want to loose weight. Do muscles. Because the muscles will eat your fat. Eat healthy. EAT PROTEIN. Protein Shakes. Animal protein. Eat a healthy portion for you. But make sure you’re increasing the protein in your own portions.
Only do cardio AFTER you’re done using your muscles. And only do low intensity cardio cause cardio can break down your muscles.

But pleaseee 🙏 focus on your muscles mainly. These will increase your metabolism. These will eat your fat.

Cardio helps but not for the long term. Muscles are the ones that help for the long term.

      Repeat after me:
      “Cardio = Shorterm Weightloss “
      “Muscles = LongTerm Weightloss”

And remember, that protein only works.
AS LONG as you’re working out those muscles.
Otherwise it’ll just make you fat. Cut carbs & sugar. Cause those are just doing nothing for you.

Eat MEATS, Veggies, Fruit. You can eat carbs but not too much.

Not at all. Everyone's different. It's your body, you know what you want to work on, how many reps, how long to rest in between, what parts worked on each day, etc. Everyone's different.

No when I was at my fittest I would do 30 mins treadmill, 30 mins elliptical, 30 mins strength training and 30 mins around the track.

If you include changing a shower, then no

If it is just the workout, then you need to speed it up

No I spend like 2 1/2 hours in the gym. 30 mins in the gym isn’t long at all, gotta go longer than 39 mins in my opinion. At least an hour

Two hours of intense workout might be too much. Assuming you are going every day.

Cause if you are nkt on steroids it takes you so long to recover if you train intensly for 2 hours
I've been checking out Mike Mentzer who trained only 3 hours "per week" and won. Mr. Universe... his principles are cool

So just eat clean, stay at a calorie deficit. Try to burn 300-400 calories more than you consume. While doing cardio, keep your heart rate at 80% of your max.

No but you can get 5 different lifts with 2 warm ups, and 3-4 sets for each with 12 -15 reps in 45 mins. Reducing time between sets is also overloading muscles just as extra weight, reps, sets

Going to a gym to just use a treadmill is 1) a waste of a car trip 2) a waste of a gym membership fee 3) a ineffective way to lose weight compared to HIIT training, 4) weight loss should not be a goal at all, it should be how you look I'm the mirror. You could lose quite a bit of your body fat and put on some muscle end up not losing a pound, yet youd look far better then simply losing thw fat. 5) the more muscle you put on, the more calories you'll expend throughout the day making you loose even more fat.

This is a common issue I see with women who will say, I don't want to put on muscle and look bigger when they try and explain their plan of just getting on the treadmill.

Women should be in front of the mirror, next to the weight rack, throwing those weight around just like the men
