Are WOMEN drinking too much ALCOHOL?

What do you think? What could the reasons be for this?

can't get to link. I don't see that around me, it's cultural. But I would wonder if they have taken on more stress than they can handle and the social decline has hit them hard. Society has been lying to women for decades and many changes... a lot of women are frustrated, I suspect.

could it be a demographics issue or social one...

Suicide is really hopelessness. that's been solved spiritually if people want it...

Looking where it occurs most by %... maybe isolation and maybe loss of family? Humans need good social support, opportunity, hope.

I mean! I am not one bit surprised. Simce covid came along, the alcohol consumption went up globally and ot kept going up from there. Alcohol is pretty expensive in Sweden and since 2020! 30% has been increased. I would say, the depression started hitting women as hard as it does for men and in this case i blame the social media, all the memes about day drinking, giving all the idea on how to hide it, make it look funny plus humanity always hide pain behind comedy and alcohol and we just role with it.

Everyone is drinking too much, alcoholism is a real issue. For some people once they start it can be nearly impossible to stop till they’re passed out. It is an Illness that some are lucky enough to not understand. Women can be just as affected by alcoholism as men. There is so much negativity in this world that we turn to alcohol to not feel.

Probably. Alcohol ages you prematurely as does legal or ilegal drugs like antidepressants, I think too many American women arevon antidepressants too. Smoking ages you. Junk foods too. Obesity and possibly veganism. Too much sun as well.

Couldn't give you an honest answer why. My guess is that it is rising because more people are miserable these days, both men and women.

Personal relationships are almost nonexistent beyond work or active group hobbies and the lack of it is taking a toll. Just look at marriage now.

A lot of people can't stay married long, much less a committed relationship. It comes with the somewhat toxic phrase "you deserve the best" and people take that to the extreme by demanding or looking for perfection and if it doesn't check every box, it is never enough.

I think it's become a way to socialize and people are forgetting its a psycho addictive drug. Like you won't die from wearing Prada but you could die from drinking alcohol.

I’m not in the USA, but I drink alcohol maybe 3 times a year. I’ve only ever met one female alcoholic in my life. I’ve met around 20 alcoholics and the rest have been males.

Men and women alike. As I have mentioned before, the latest research suggests that there is no safe dosage for alcohol. It damages the body from the first sip.

Most youth drink too much alcohol... age 18-25.

If you ever get drunk... you are drinking too much alcohol. Many go out with getting drunk actually being the plan and goal.

I rarely drink alcohol. I tried beer a few weeks ago that I used to like, it was "okay" I'm good again for a few months :p

I think they drink too much at one time. They are having a good time but they don't set a reasonable limit for themselves. That's where the trouble starts

i’ve always thought that’s one of the biggest lies told to women in general is that they can drink and party like men can. I think it’s effects on their looks are much more dramatic.

There's a solid argument for that. I know 3 women who are alcoholics. It's funny because u would have never pegged them as alcoholics. Kind of makes me wonder how many women I know still that I don't know are alcoholics

The U. S. is a very stressful country and when people are under stress they tend to look for drugs and alcohol to relieve their tension and stress so that's my guest why women are drinking a lot.
