Do people with learning disabilities like ADHD show love in a different ways than people without learning disabilities?

My boyfriend who just died suddenly, and had ADHD, told me he sees the world differently than I do. So, would they love a person in a different way, sometimes in a hurting way? Anyone know?

Lmao well he might have but adhd is not a mental disorder in how you see or show love!

His brain might have worked differently or shown love in a different way but that was not the adhd!

Might be light autism or another thing but ADHD just makes it so hard to focus and stay focused!

As a nurse with it trust me... it won't change love or make it a hurting love?

What ways did he show hurting love? Physically? Hurting you?

@하이yeah, he was always making me believe he was cheating, and he was.
Towards the end of his life, it was like he went crazy and started yelling at me. Oh, and I was having difficulty getting my foot in my wheelchair and he hit me 6 times with the leg of the wheelchair. OUCH!
He was just a different guy than the one I fell in love with.

What he died from that is what made him that way!
Men with ADHD are not abusive like that!

Her is a really big warm hug! You did amazing with him till he passed! You truly loved him but your right he changed!

Please don't think that this is true love for others this is abuse and he did love you but what he died from changed him and his feelings!

How he was before getting sick was love before the change! Look for that happy part and cherish it!

My uncle had cancer of the brain and was an amazing person so fun but latter his personality changed and was abusive. I loved him but now who he was in the end.

I hope that one day I find out what he died from. Could have been a number of things. He was diabetic and I remember the morning he died he said his blood sugar was 337. No one could stop him from eating all of the sweets. He kept making milkshakes like he couldn't stop. When he went to Walgreens to pick up my scripts, after he died and Looked in the bag, and he had an open box of chocolate covered raisins.

He clearly had something in his brain forcing him to want sweets which his body could not handle.

Mentally something was off! Will his family do an autopsy?

Not sure how close you are with his family but maybe you can ask them what his doctor was telling them about him?

He probably needed a medication for more then his diabetes? Often people hide things from Thier partners for a long time.

Unless he had a depressing death wish that day just to eat and die then something mentally was wrong and nothing you could have done.

It's 3am Monday and here I sit crying my eyes out remembering how he used to say to me "I'll love you for the rest of my life no matter what happens". Then his brain got all tangly.
He kept accusing me of verbally attacking him - but I wasn't doing any such thing.
Just before he died - hours, he stole all my money. Gee's, I don't know what to think.

Course I'll be nice and sorry he stole everything but now he is dead his parents should give your money back!
Sound alike a brain tumor that changed his personality 😔. He was different remember that side of him not the abusive side.

Love is shown in many different ways. Nature and nurture both play a role. If he showed love in negative ways that isn't adhd that is his upbringing.
People with adhd definitely see the world through a different lense though

My wife is autistic.. There are some differences, Like not getting innuendo and social cues.. But its mostly the same.

Maybe they do, I don’t know anyone with that, I know people with autism and they see things differently
