I believe it depends on however long it takes them to work through their issues enough so that their team of doctors/therapists agrees it's safe enough for them to return to life on their own.

It really depends if you end up somewherewhere the people actual want to help or not. I attempted but got sent home 4 days later. Yet another woman had been there for 3 months and she was begging for them to not let her out, because she would attempt again, and they wanted her out and she jumped the fence and impaled herself.
A few weeks, a month or so. After my girlfriend's 3rd nervous breakdown, she was only in the psych ward for a few weeks and then, they decided to send her to a Ha-Ha Hotel for 6 months. It didn't do her that much good. She was okay for a few years but had another breakdown not long after and several more since then.
That depends on their condition. Someone who is threatening to others will remain until they are judged safe to release.

I think it depends on how severe their case is. I Baker Acted myself and I stayed for three and a half days. I wasn’t suicidal so I suppose I was deemed well enough to be released.
It depends on what they are there for and how fast they are cured. It's really up to the doctors.
