Would you say bipolar is a deadly illness?

Before I asked this question on Girlsaskguys when I googled

Is bipolar deadly?

It only said things like people with bipolar are more likely to commit suicide or more likely to consume alcohol which can reduce the number of years on their life

It never said anything like “Bipolar can directly kill you.”

Bipolar disorder is not a terminal illness. It’s a neurological disorder that’s created by chemical imbalances in the brain, and can be managed by medication. It’s not cancer, it’s not AIDS, it’s not even remotely in the same families as those illnesses.


If you genuinely think being diagnosed with Bipolar disorder means you’re going to die, here’s a morbid joke: you’re right! You lose your immortality by being bipolar because none of us die!


But fr tho, bipolar is not a death sentence, it just means your life can get better by learning to manage it.

I think when we die we leave our illnesses behind. If it is that deadly, it is a curse

Bipolar can be a profitable illness. I know off a couple of people who get monthly checks for being bipolar.
