Have you ever had scurvy? What is it?

Haven't had it. It's not too common in the modern world. It's a disease due to lack of vitamin C. It still happens in third world countries or when people are otherwise malnourished.

It used to be common for sailors during long sea voyages when they had no fresh produce for a long time. Once they figured out what caused it, they started bringing dried fruits that kept on long trips. It's where the pirate talk "scurvy dog came from.

Never had scurvy, but I did have a different disease that is uncommon in the modern first world. I had chicken pox. I still have barely visible scars from it.

according to every movie and anime about the sea and pirates... that's some serious lack of Vitamin C in your diet, so you can get very sick

fatigue, anemia, pain... not sure what else, lol

Scurvy is caused by vitamin C deficiency. I tend to eat a lot of food high in vitamin C so that's never been issue.

It is vitamin C deficiency. Hard to have today but sailors used to get it. Your gums got sore and your teeth fell out.

A lack of vitamin C. Also known as scurvy by ancient sailors. The British used to carry limes abord their ships thus they got the name limies [ not sure of spelling ]

I've never had it but it happens when you don't have enough vitamin c. Your skin turns black and eventually you die
