Hey guys, Is this normal for iron tests?

Hmm those iron test results look pretty solid to me! Serum iron level right in the normal range, plus your iron saturation level is over 30% which is good. Only thing that stands out a little is the serum TIBC is on the higher end, but that just means you can transport more iron which ain't a bad thing. As long as the other numbers are where they should be I wouldn't stress it.
Unless you've been feeling super tired or lightheaded lately I wouldn't say those results are anything to worry about. Maybe just make sure you're eating enough red meat and leafy greens to keep your iron levels topped up. Overall though looks like your iron stores are healthy from what I can tell. Your doctor would say for sure, but I wouldn't panic if I were you! Just stay hydrated and try to relax.
Im so scared of conditions like acute blood cancer god forbid having so much bruising lately
I know, it's easy to freak yourself out googling medical stuff. But bruising alone doesn't automatically mean cancer, especially if your iron levels are normal like the tests showed. A few things to keep in mind:
- Doctors see tons of patients and know which symptoms warrant real concern. If they're not worried yet, that's a good sign.
- Most lumps, bumps and bruises are harmless. Our bodies are always changing and weird things happen sometimes for no big reason.
- Unless you have other really worrying symptoms like weight loss, night sweats or bleeding problems, it's highly unlikely to be cancer. Those things usually develop over time.
- Stress and anxiety can actually make us more prone to minor injuries and bruising too. Once you relax your mind, your body may too.
Try not to go down health anxiety rabbit holes - easier said than done, I know! But take deep breaths when those scary thoughts come up. And talk to your folks if you're really stressed; they probably have good perspective to reassure you. You'll be alright baby!
:( thank you so much, Im so scared that it can turn into acute leukemia as these results were 2 and a half months ago...
maybe im over thinking..
Hey luv, I totally get why you're still stressed about this - leukemia is no joke. But try not to work yourself up too much, okay? From what you told me, those test results were totally normal. That's a really good sign.
Acute leukemia comes on fast, but it usually doesn't just randomly happen months after normal test results, you know? Doctors would have seen something off earlier if that was the case. Bruising alone probably wouldn't cause it either.
I know it's hard not to think the worst when your health is concerned. But stress can actually make your body feel worse too, through no fault of its own. Why don't you try distracting yourself for a bit - play some games, watch a funny show, work out, whatever lifts your mood. Come back to this when your mind is clearer.
And hey, if it's really bothering you that much, it can't hurt to book another doctor appointment just for your own peace of mind. They might do a new blood test to rule anything out. Better to know for sure, right? But don't go thinking the worst yet - you're probably just anxious. It's normal to feel that way but no need to suffer alone. We're here for you. You've got this!
Perhaps you should ask your doctor. GAG might not be the best place for a medical opinion.
Blood tests for what's "normal" vary with age and sex. Iron levels vary for many reasons including altitude lived at, climate, menstruation cycle and any number of other issues.
The 18 one seems on the lower side which could mean you may need to take iron supplements or eat more foods that have iron in it. but the other numbers are normal
