Here are some tips that have helped me and my friends keep our skin clear:
- Wash your face twice a day, once in the morning and once before bed. Use a gentle cleanser, nothing too harsh. Cetaphil and Cerave are good brands.
- Moisturize after washing. Look for a lightweight, non-comedogenic lotion. Nivea and Cetaphil have good ones.
- Exfoliate 1-2 times a week to slough off dead skin cells. Use a soft cloth or gentle scrub, nothing too abrasive.
- Drink plenty of water. Dehydration can mess with your skin big time. Carry a water bottle with you.
- Limit pizza and junk food. I know it's tough, but greasy stuff can clog pores.
- Wash your pillowcases often. Oils and dirt from your skin rub off on them and then back onto your face.
- Try adding a salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide spot treatment for problem areas. Neutrogena and Stridex make some.
- Lay off super hot showers and don't pop pimples, it can spread bacteria and cause scarring.
- Get enough sleep too, lack of rest is bad for your whole body including skin.
Hope this gives you some ideas to try! Let me know if any help or if you have other questions.
Well try sticking to the basics
