Psychologists tell us that laziness is an epidemic. Is it a virus produced by the Chinese to undermine our productivity? Why are you so lazy and how long have you been this way? Have you ever sought treatment for laziness?

Because I am like that :D
but being lazy doesn't mean doing nothing... It means I do things I like or things that are necessary lol...
The rest is as optimized as possible :D
I've become considerably lazier during the pandemic switching from seeing my colleagues in the office from time to time (working remotely, but we had business trips multiple times a year to work together in person) to working entirely remotely. I still get my work done but I procrastinate much more now.
It might just be an excuse but I test as a complete extrovert on Big-Five and MBTI and so forth. I get energized being around people. I seem to get depressed (not in the way of becoming sad, but lazy, unmotivated) if I'm a homebody for too long.
So I think before pandemic, it was actually really helpful for me to stay enthusiastic about my work that I see my colleagues regularly. I'm trying to find ways to motivate myself to work more without seeing my colleagues in person but it's been a struggle for me.
I've never sought treatment for laziness although I wasn't so lazy until the pandemic. Always studied hard in school, worked hard before pandemic, but I had the advantage of going to school and seeing my teachers and classmates and going to the office and seeing my colleagues.
I might need to seek treatment. I've even considered changing jobs to one I can do locally here in an office with colleagues. Yet I've been working with the company I'm at for over 10 years now and I'm still very loyal to our product and feel responsible for its success.
I'm really hoping my company just starts doing the business trips again at some point. They could probably do it now without any problems since there's no longer issues with quarantine in any of the countries my colleagues live in to my understanding. Yet I think they realized over the pandemic that we can still do our work without them and it does save considerable costs to the company not having to pay for our flights and hotels.
Still, at least for me, it was so helpful to see everyone on a fairly regular basis in person.
My technology friend knows what I do for a living. Less than 3 people do cause I don’t want people to steal my idea.
its our nature, to conserve energy as much as possible.
Conscientiousness is largely genetic.
I’m not.
