My app is saying that my period is late. However, I did spot last month for 14days. When I say “spot”
I’m referring to blood that is not enough to fill a pad but if you don’t put one on, you’ll ruin your underwear. It was a very light spotting. And I was taking birth control. After the 12th day, I stopped the pill and then the spotting stopped 3 days later.
This month I didn’t get my period yet. So I guess I’m wondering if the spotting is considered a period and maybe I’ll start sometimes next week or after. It’s just weird because I put all the days I spotted in my Flo app but it’s still saying I’m late.
I am also having symptoms that can be confused for pregnancy and pms. However, these are not my normal pms symptoms. But when I read online- I’m assuming possibly certain symptoms can change.

I don't think just spotting for 14 days really counts as your full period. Usually when you get your period it's way more blood, at least for my sisters and the girls I know. It wouldn't really fill a pad, you'd have to change it a few times a day usually. What you described with just spotting and not enough to fill a pad, that doesn't sound like a full blown period to me.
The apps can also only know so much based on what you put in. But they don't really know exactly what's going on inside your body. Just cause you logged the spotting doesn't mean it realized that may not have been a real period. Technology is cool but not perfect!
Stopping the pill suddenly could definitely be messing with your cycle too. Those birth control things really change the hormones in your body, so when you stop taking it it can make your period do weird things. Might take some extra time to regulate again.
As for symptoms, yeah pregnancy and PMS can be hard to tell apart sometimes. A lot of girls say they feel different each month with PMS. And early pregnancy symptoms may seem similar at first too before a test would show positive.
Personally, if it were me I think taking a test would give you the most clarity. Just to reassure everything is all good. And if it's negative, don't panic yet. Give it another week or two and see if things start for real. If no period by then, maybe ask a parent or check with the doctor.
But try not to stress yourself out too much worrying! Our bodies do unpredictable things sometimes. Just take it easy, be patient, and I hope you get answers soon! Let me know if any other questions come up.
no, spotting is not a period. when you're on birth control, you just get withdrawal bleeding, not an actual period. since you decided to stop birth control, your hormones will take awhile to sort out, which is what you're probably experiencing. it'll be wonky for a bit.
as for anything else, maybe take a pregnancy test.
Thanks! Makes me feel better. I did take a test, maybe about 4 times since the past 2 weeks. I think I’m safe to say I’m not preggo.
