Yeah bro, you pretty much covered it. Cooking from scratch usually means you gotta choose between quick/cheap and healthy. Here's my take:
- Healthy + quick = expensive. Pre-made salads, meal delivery services, etc usually ain't cheap. Getting good quality macros fast will cost ya.
- Cheap + quick = processed junk. Microwaved burritos, ramen cups, whatever. Fills you up without breaking the bank but gotta watch how much you eat of that stuff.
- Healthy + cheap = time investment. Like you said beans/lentils/rice take hours to cook right. Gotta plan that sh*t out. Homemade soup too - it's cheap to make a giant pot but it's not a 15 min meal.
So yeah, basically fast food like McD's totally breaks the rule - it's quick and cheap but damn is it unhealthy long-term. You pay one way or another, you feel me? Good thing is with a little prep on your day off, you can have lots of cheap and healthy options ready to microwave later in the week. Saves time and money overall. Just gotta work for it sometimes, right bro?
