I seriously want to come off my periods because last night about 4:30am I was in so much pain I had to rush to toilet and stuff I won’t go into too much detail but I haven’t slept good at all last night

I’m on the patch. They switched my Xulane for Zefemy 😢

I still get my period, but it’s significant lighter. I went from changing ultra tampons every 2-3 hours to just using a pad. I prefer the patch since I only have to change it once a week and can stop whenever.

I stopped using birth control for a few years when I was 17, and then tried again when I was 20, before going back to no birth control. Even with trying different types, it did nothing but mess my body up. If you’re having serious period problems like a lot of pain or very heavy bleeding, please see a gynaecologist or sexual health professional - don’t rush to birth control as it can actually make your problems worse. You could have PCOS.

I'm on birth control (Yaz) and it does not stop periods. She needs to see her gyno as you suggested.

@LaurenM1997 I feel for you. Get some heat on your stomach. That helps me a lot. If you don't have a heating pad then heat water and put it in a water bottle. Not as constant heat but still works. Hang in there. Ibuprofen is good as well. Just make sure you take the maximum dose and keep up with it during the day. I think every 4 hours. Even if you feel better keep taking so it is in your system.

@LaurenM1997 PCOS is Polycystic ovarian syndrome, give it a google - it’s reasonably common among women 20+ and can cause period problems and other symptoms.

I use mini pills exactly because of that problem... I had very painful periods and I was very emotional because of unstable hormones level during periods.

now I enjoy time without periods and PMS :D

I was on the hormonal pill for many years and it never stopped my bleeding. I never wished for my periods to stop completely as it sounds weird to me. I've been using the copper IUD for one year now and I'm very happy but I do not plan on keeping it for too long.

If that’s the goal, you’ll need hormonal based contraceptives such as pills and the hormonal iud

None that I have been on stop the period. One has skipped a couple months... then you get a couple months worth of bleeding to seemingly catch up, which I can't tell you how traumatic that is.

I'm on Mirena IUD and I only have a tiny tiny but of spotting at first and then nothing at all.
