Artificial and non-nutritive sweeteners have been linked to increased endocrine cancers for years anecdotally, but since scientific papers are generally paid for by people who have a vested interest in the result it's only the last five years or so that peer-reviewed papers have begun to be published. After all, if Ozark Holdings owns canderel, the aspartame based sweetener, they're hardly going to give grants to scientists busy proving aspartame is as bad for the endocrine system - liver, kidneys, pancreas, bowel, etc - as nicotine is for the lining of the lungs.
That's why a few independent researchers publishing exactly that a few years ago got buried - the way big tobacco tried to bury the first lung cancer research.
Non-nutritive sweeteners actually cause diabetic complications. Just look anecdotally. Diet coke came out about 60 years ago. Endocrine problems like insulin resistance, obesity and the various cancers have increased year on year since as the grip of artificial sweetener addiction has deepened.
The healthiest sweetening agent is raw honey. Just how the bees make it. It's the only food that never spoils. Next best is unrefined sugar.
That's it
And avoid carbohydrates unless you want to get fat. What you don't burn immediately, your body stores - around the organs in the abdomen.
If you have to drink Coke, drink the original. It's actually great for hydration if you drink it flat after a workout. It balances your electrolytes - which is what it was originally designed for.
Thanks a lot for such a great reply.
Depends.. do you trust big corporations to do what is best for your health or not? if you do trust them then you can feel confident that paid researchers & the marketing department at these companies isn't just using you to make money. Independent research says this stuff can cause cancer and do other bad things... and it's been like that for decades. Also the whole point of a product like coke zero was to help people lose weight, supposedly. There's a reason why there's more FAT people now than ever before. This stuff doesn't help you lose weight at all. It actually increases your craving for unhealthy foods.
This is true of a lot of things tho... go do some research. If you decide to cut a lot of processed foods out of your diet & maybe learn to grow your own stuff you'll be in really good shape in the future when there's a major food shortage or the government decides to add some "helpful" ingredient to all the food int he store that turns out to harm people.
Yes.
Zero sugar? 😂 however it is sweet no? I would rather it be real sugar.
I don’t take in artificial stuff unless I don’t know.
if you are concern … start making changes.
otherwise… be like everyone else and take chemically created substances. It won’t matter at the end.
don’t rely on govt, big cooperation… they are all about money and so many are brainwashed … it’s kinda cool to see how easily humans can be train little sheeps.
the hard work of makin changes to be healthier … is by eating foods are from nature. But majority go by the easy way out.
so you decide or they will decide for you.!
at this point, what can't cause cancer?
but to answer, there's no actual evidence that it causes cancer. the main concern is the artificial sweeteners (aspartame). the majority of research hasn't found a consistent link between aspartame and cancer in humans. some animal studies have suggested potential risks, but these results have not been replicated in humans
just make sure you drink in moderation and don't overdo it

aspartame is something that they use as a sweetener but there is no really good research about it... so... because current research results are inconclusive... there is this warning
I switched to stevia-sweetened drinks
What’s a good energy drink, lemonade or cola with stevia?
@DryGermanGuy redbull offers a version with stevia, and I do drinks from Bolero powder at home, they have cola and lemonade available :D
Thanks! 👍 I will for sure check out and try the Rotbulle! 🐂
@IslaTheWitch
You're so right about Aspartame. It is a neurotoxin and very bad for your health.
Aspartame is hidden by other names like neotame for one.
Aspartame is in so many things that we don't even know about unless you are an avid label reader of labels with ingredients on the product.
One of the worst offender's of Aspartame in all chewing gum. Doesn't matter if it's sugar gum because they still put Aspartame in it.
No gum is safe from it.
Aspartame is also a flavor enhancer which makes everything taste better and it makes you want more of whatever you are eating or drinking or chewing.
A lot of people are addicted to Diet Coke because they are craving the effects of the aspartame.
I had a boss once and the entire corner walls were stacked with Diet Coke. It was her drug of choice.
Nothing like masturbating after getting banned 🤤
We don't know yet for sure. The research remains mostly inconclusive.
All I know is that some sweet chemicals they put in those are not metabolized by our bodies. Still beats the known risks associated with overconsumption of sugars.
https://www.youtube.com/embed/pMXwFlp9IoIThe secret is to enjoy everything moderatly. You can even die from drinking water to much.
In the case of coke zero you would have to drink about 9-14 cans daily (!) for it to start having health risks. I dont even drink that much water.
Yeah that’s a lot of Coke Zero.
It can, but you have to drink a whole lot of it for Aspartame to affect you to give you cancer. But why give cancer any edge. cut down on your soft drinks.
Good point
Would it hurt to drink one 12 oz a day?
I'd stay away from soft drinks altogether. Drink healthy stuff like water and real fruit juices. Even real fruit has a lot of natural sugars which is why keto diet says to have fruits occasionally as like a dessert.
Some studies have linked aspartame to cancer. However, overall it's no more dangerous for your health as high fructose corn syrup in non diet beverages. So it's really not worth it just to avoid aspartame by replacing it with high fructose corn syrup.
Probably less of a chance of it giving you cancer than regular coke giving you diabetes.
Honestly, I'd be more concerned about the phenylketonuric phenylalanine. Which I understand is an appetite suppressant but not good for your heart.
I'll tell you what my doctor said. He said "I wouldn't drink more than one bottle a day". Good ol water is still your best bet (So long Iong as you don't live in Michigan.🤪🤣)
Anything can give you cancer, the real question is are you willing to take the risk? I drink Pepsi Max all the time, I'm not really scared if I get cancer or not tho lol.
There is some hints that some of the ingredients "can" cause cancer but you would have to consume inhuman amounts of coke to get a dosis of these ingredients that is actually considered carcinogenic.
99.9% of things cause cancer. The trick is to look at how many people it will cause cancer in, is it 1 in 10 or 1 in 10 million.
There has been some research that eating and drinking, doesn't matter what, CAN cause cancer.
Not as bad as eating meat, but it is up there.
I’m sure a lot of things in excess can cause cancer. Honestly just imagine what it does to your stomach if people can use it to clean car battery terminals to clean up the corrosion.
If it does, no problem. Cancer's really easy to cure.
I heard that the stuff makes your dick fall off.
As far as I know anything with artificial sweeteners can cause cancer
I hope not I have one right in the refrigerator. I’m getting ready to drink now.
All sodas are bad for you, especially the diet ones.
add some 151 Rum in there.. then you dont have to worry
I drink it regularly too and I mean two or three a day regularly….
I have heard that artificial sweetener can increase odds of kidney stones.
Dude, everything gives you cancer in excess
That is a sad truth. It makes no difference because no matter how we die we’re just as dead. The only question is how painful will it be.
Jesus, you sound like you want to be miserable instead of just moderating your intake
I didn’t mean anything offensive by what I said, just felt compelled to speak my mind.
nah i don't worry about that
at this point, fucking EVERYTHING causes cancer.
Yes! - TASTE cancer :D
Breathing can also cause cancer.
Does coke cause cancer?
I'm no doctor
Duh.
Yeah
