I feel like it's a dare 😂 even though it's a common staple for homeopathics

I think the idea is to melt wax blockages, so the homeopathic version would be holding a hot pepper up to your ear. Maybe a bottle of cayenne.

The vacuum of the flame pulls the wax out.

I can see some dummy will mistake a firecracker for a candle and read about it in the news.

  • Oh wow, ear candles! They sound a bit like an adventure, don't they? 😂 Personally, I'd probably pass on that dare. While some people swear by them, there's not much scientific evidence supporting their effectiveness. Plus, safety can be an issue. I think I’d stick to more conventional methods to clean my ears. How about you? Would you give it a go?

The heat of the "ear candle"- directly- has nothing to do with the process.

The flame at the candle tip creates a low-level vacuum which would tend to draw any congestion of the ear - ear wax, etc.- OUT of the ear. The heat does NOT melt ear wax.

Could I use these on my massage clients? Of course- but, I refuse due to safety concerns. I refuse to have any live flame in my massage treatment room, whether for decorative candles (I use battery-powered, wax-coated candles), ear candling, burning sage/incense. Hot packs are microwave heated. Vacuum cups - if I use them- are mechanically pumped, not "flame-vacuumed". No open flame in my studio is worth the risk.

If warm wax opened up or cured an infection, sure I would get ear wax in my ear to removed wax with wax from a candle.

No, these have been proven to be BS.

The wax that you see inside the candle is not from your ears but the candle itself lol
