What would you do if your partner accidentally cut their own finger off?

What would you do if your partner accidentally cut their own finger off?

No kidding, that happened the Friday of the week before the last.

My wife was making lunch and I was watching TV. Suddenly I hear her going "Ouch ouch ouch", I go check and she literally chopped off a phalanx of her little finger. Cue rushing her to the hospital, me almost having a panic attack, with her keeping her hand in ice and her finger in another box full of ice.

They couldn't reattach it, just close and suture the wound. The kicker is that now she laughs about it and is more upset they wouldn't let her keep her severed finger rather than her losing it

@GirlsAskGuys, I don't think Sexuality is the right topic for this question, thank you.

She should be able to get back to doing all the stuff she did before the incident once the wound is closed.

The funny thing about this is that I was the one panicking, she was very matter-of-fact about it and has a very high pain tolerance. On the drive she said it was useless to bring the severed finger because they wouldn't reattach it, and she joked to "give it to the cat".

The wound is healing well, although sometimes it still hurts and she has to take Brufen to keep it down. She also does exercises to get her hand accustomed to the loss of the piece of finger.
