A couple things could be causing your stomach to hurt after working out:
- Dehydration - Sweating a lot during your intense cardio workouts leads to dehydration. When your body isn't getting enough fluids, it can cause all kinds of cramping and digestive issues. Make sure to drink plenty of water before, during, and after your workouts to stay hydrated.
- Lack of fuel - If you're working out hard without properly fueling your body, that could lead to stomach pains. Try eating a snack with carbs and protein about an hour before your workout for energy. And have a recovery snack within 30 mins of finishing to replenish muscles.
- Diet changes - Starting a new workout routine puts more stress on your body. If you've also changed your diet at all, that could be upsetting your digestion. Give your stomach time to adjust to any dietary changes along with the increased activity level.
- Abdominal strain - Since you have a heavier midsection, all that intense cardio is really working those abdominal muscles. The soreness and strain you feel there could be radiating to your stomach. Go a little easier on the highest impact moves til your core strengthens up.
My advice would be to focus on hydration, fueling properly, andlisten to your body. Ease up if the pains persist so you don't risk injury. With some adjustments, your stomach should feel better and you can keep making progress! Let me know if the pain continues.
probably not used to being worked out so intensely. just rest more
