ASIDE FROM CHILDBIRTH
THE 3RD TIME I DISLOCATED MY SHOULDER WAS EXCRUCIATING BEYOND BELIEF
I’ve had a lot of pinched nerves or myalgias with my neck/infraspinatus, and they SUCK.
But one time I was laying on my couch, twisted myself to reach up behind me to the back of the couch to get my phone, but I sneezed in the middle of it, and I got this shock of pain down my neck and spine. I was fucked up for WEEKS. If I turned the wrong way the pain was incapacitating, it could drop me to a knee.
Trying to look both ways at stop signs on the way to the ER was excruciating. The triage nurse asked me what my pain was from 1-10, and I didn’t want to be dramatic, I’m thinking “just been in a horrible car accident with broken legs and crushed ribs and ruptured organs is a 10”, so I said 5 or 6. But a couple minutes in, I turned the wrong way and screamed, and she’s like “uhhhhhh, darlin’, your pain level is a 10.”, lmao.
They just gave me painkillers and a neck brace, wasn’t much they could do. Sucked for a couple weeks and still had lingering pain the next few months. But that initial period was BRUTAL. I’ve broken bones before, and even whacked a broken bone a second time by accident before it was treated, which I also don’t recommend, but none of it compares to that one instance of that pinched nerve. That was worse than everything else, including other pinched nerves.
Besides my broken ankle pinched nerve in lower back very difficult
Yes gave birth to 2 amazing kids. No epidural.
8 years ago, went hiking… felt and landed on my heel… the eye of my ankle literally was sticking out!! I have never cursed my life like I did not even when I gave birth…
I had two surgeries and was out of work 4 months.
I went to my surgeon he said… it’s not if… but when I would need another surgery to remove the the 12 screws and the hardware and fix the arthritis….
doesn't sound so bad when my hubbys sister in law just went through her 2nd surgery and 3rd in another 6-8 weeks and will be on antibiotics for a yr.!! 🤦♀️
I hope you are feeling better.
Whiplash, it was horrible! A lot of people don't realize that our heads weigh around ten pounds and when the muscles that support it are torn, it's pure HELL 😭 I also had a concussion from the same incident but that wasn't as bad.
I should also add, that I'm a baby when it comes to pain lol
