How is it with a mouthpiece and breathing? I'm worried I'll suck up my air. Do you run out quickly?
Also should I get a wetsuit?

I was teaching scuba to myself and use it for checking up boat hulls in the water.
Diving itself does not fascinate me.
As a beginner once, the hardest thing to learn was breathing discipline.
In your own case your trainer will keep you out of harm's way.

Take the class and find out. You may enjoy it, you may not. Try it and see.
You have to be trained and PADI certified or don't even try it. There is way more to it than you can even imagine. Most dive shops won't let you buy or rent equipment or be taken out on a dive without it.
Not sure why you need to be anonymous to talk about scub diving.
