What should I know before having a hystorectomy?

First, I 100% support you for not wanting kids. Not many women want to be mothers and that’s ok.
Second, I don’t think doctors will perform a hysterectomy until you’re a bit older. Or, forgive me for saying this, until you do have kids.
Of course I’m not saying you will, but there has been many cases women have changed their minds or regretted getting a hysterectomy. Also, there’s been cases where women will sue doctors after the surgery. It’s why doctors have you sign a waiver first to cover their asses so you don’t come after them later down the road.
A hysterectomy is a big decision and it could cause a lot of health risks. Not meaning to scare you but that’s just reality. So really think about this and maybe ask for professional advice.

As for right now, if you are sexually active, take some contraceptives. Yes I know they’re not 100% but it’s better than nothing. Also, keep track on your cycles.
If you’re not sexually active, still take BC or something just in case. Also, don’t go screwing random dudes. Keep that for someone you love and who is on the same page as you.

yeah ik they won't do it on a 16 yr old, but im asking for when im older so im prepared.

im not sexually active, and im alr on pills and i won't have sex if its not 100% sure i won't get pregnant, i dont think my parents would support an abortion, so im not risking it.

bc people change A LOT as a teenager and in their 20s so think of it as like insurance for your future self incase you change your mind. ik you 100% don't want kids rn bc you've been very vocal about it, but you're looking out for yourself if you wait

You should know that you are only a child, whose brain is not nearly developed enough and doesn't have nearly enough life experience to make such a life altering decision. And based on the drivel you post here every day, it's obvious you have the emotional maturity of a puppy. If you wait until you are older, wiser and more mature, I can almost guarantee you'll change your mind.

That it's a hell of a lot harder to put a uterus in than it is to take out, so you should probably look into contraceptives that are less permanent before taking such a drastic action.

You are 16 now and your feeling about children may change as you get older, EVEN IF you think that couldn't possibly happen. Surgery is irreversible and something you would be very likely to regret. . . assuming that you can find a physician who will perform the procedure when it is not medically indicated and even if you pay for it in cash because it won't be covered by insurance. THEN. . . do you want to begin menopause at age 18?

Look into pills or iuds first , I had a hysterectomy and it’s pretty painful and invasive feeling. Why do u want one at 16 besides no pregnancy? I mean there’s other ways to stop pregnancy without tearing your insides out.

They usually won’t do one unless you have heavy periods or other severe medical issues. It took many years before they did mine.
