If a paramedic came to help you because you’re too drunk would you be grateful or annoyed?

I was working last night and got called for a 22 year old female who was too intoxicated to walk. Her friends called 9-1-1 for her and she was pissed that we had to take her to the hospital to sleep it off. Why wasn’t she grateful for the help?

I would not be happy either if someone forced me to go to the hospital for any reasons i rather sleep it off in my own home, when i was younger I had to sign a paper because I refused to go to the hospital after faiting in a shop, they called medic but in France nobody can force anyone to go to the hospital i did not want to bother my sister and father by going to the hospital and ruin our day so the medic just told me to drink orange juice and eat a croissant and that I would feel better after

She's 22. She's probably extremely embarrassed. Think of it from her perspective.

This is the dumb ego that exists in the first responder profession that made me retire early from it. You showing up with lights and sirens putting people in the spotlight doesn't make you an automatic hero worthy of praise. Her friends could've taken her to the hospital without all the commotion. Let me guess, you had maybe 4 firefighters and 2 people in an ambulance at least show up for one patient?

She's drunk and is being forced into something she doesn't want to be involved in. No shit she's going to act out. Dealing with belligerent people is part of the job. You aren't meeting patients on their best days, it's the exact opposite. I'm willing to bet none of you even tried to deescalate the situation. She's just another drunk that unfortunately made you have to do your job, right? Too many of you dickbags who don't actually give a shit about patients in the profession.
