Girls, how worried are you that you'll one day get breast cancer, and do you do anything to minimise your chances of getting it?

I don't have any intrinsic risk factors like a family history but back in High School, my best friend lost her mother to the disease so it's something that I've often worried about. I had kids when I was young which dropped my risk and did self-exams up until 2019 (when the American cancer society no longer recommended it). But when I turned 40, I started getting mammograms once a year to catch any tumours early.

That’s really brave of you to stay on top of it. I don’t have a family history either, but the thought does cross my mind sometimes—especially hearing stories like your friend’s mom. I try to stay mindful of lifestyle habits, but honestly, I think awareness and early detection like what you’re doing with mammograms is the smartest move. I an mildly worried as my mom had a battle with breast cancer that, thankfully, she won. I just got a mammogram last month and tend to check myself every so often. I used to just dismiss the possibility as being too low to focus on, but after my mom's diagnosis, I've become more vigilant.

I don't think about it everyday, I do am worried about it but to be honest I don't really do much to avoid it and I put myself in danger ways (like putting my computer on my breast when I lay on my bed or my phone which is one of the worst things to do especially since I have large breast and those are more prone to breast cancer).

Ther's so many cancer though and I'm ways more worried about skin one as my skin is extremely pale and I have lots of of moles

My boyfriend does daily breast exams. ets me k kw about any spot he finds lol. Had one that I was worried about for a bit but it eventually healed. I'm more likely to get skin cancer since I love in NZ
