Girls, did you ever worry about getting breast cancer and if so did you ever think of it like "my breasts could kill me"?

When I was a teenager, a close friend of mine lost her mom to breast cancer and I did fear it one day I might get it but after a year or so I stopped worrying about it.

But a few months ago I hit the big 4-0 so that meant I had to go through the right of passage where you get your milk-makers pressed like a panini in an acrylic vice grip to make sure they're lump-free. Before the appointment I was really just fretting about the whole boob squishing aspect of the procedure but right after the first view, I just felt a combination of relief that it didn't hurt like I thought I would and surprise that my breast somehow managed to bounce right back into shape after being squeezed flatter than I thought possible.

But right after the tech got me in position for the next view and tightened the paddle, the thought that my breasts could kill me suddenly hit me like a ton of bricks so my demeanor went strait from relief to solemness for the rest of the appointment.

So did any of you ever think of your breasts as something that could kill you?
