  like if everyone was prepared for this mandatory 2 week vacation it would be fine. if essential businesses wanted to function that's fine. but we're still getting paid to get lit and chill. but i love the doomsday scenarios

OOF that would be an interesting thing BUT the power stations would fail, energy would fail and food etc. would become more difficult to obtain.
To do this is should be something along the lines of BORN in JAN/JUL one week off, the following week FEB/AUG and so on EVERY YEAR so in the space of 2 months everyone has a paid week off WITH proper preparation and organisation and there would be no flipping or swapping weeks either. You play or lose it.
