Former athletes: Can you still perform at the same level?

If you were an athlete in school, can you still perform at the same or a comparable level? What did you play and what was your personal best?

I ran track & field and cross country in both high school and college. According to Running Level - and assuming they are to be trusted - an intermediate 2-mile time for a man between 35 and 40 (I'm currently 37) is 14:21. This morning, I ran two miles in 14:22. My best time in college was 12:24. This was the first I'd timed myself in years. And I'm a little out of practice, as I've done more weightlifting than running since then.

However, I think that if I made it regular thing, I could probably match or beat the "advanced" time of 12:32.

So what do you think, former athletes? Is this you? ๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡๐Ÿ‘‡
