Why is water clear and flavorless?

Water tastes how it looks and I think the way water tastes is weird, it has a taste but not really at the same time and I wonder if it having flavor means it's unpure, I think water is suppose to taste like nothing, but I don't know 🤔

Depends on which water we're talking about, tap water's taste varies, I assume, from recycling parameters? While mineral water, the way we call it here, brands and tastes different depending on the source it's taken from, I assume it's related to rock type involved in the stream?

I'm not talking about shaved ice, but proper water flavoured ice cream which is creamy and all. If we can make that then water is indeed a thing with flavour.

Because they make ice creams on every possible flavours possible on earth nowadays.

Have you ever been to a Chinese buffet, they have water based ice cream and it's as creamy as it can get, it's not fully like normal ice cream but enough where you are like "woah I can't believe this is made of water" 😂

Yea I thought you knew about water based ice cream? I don't know about zero calories, for that I would have to be made of fake sugar as well, I don't know what they use as a sweetener

Stevia is this wonderful plants, you somehow turn it into powder. It is like 100 times more sweeter than sugar but is zero calories - because our body can't digest the type of starch molecules in that leaf so it is just excreted with no absorption. But it has a slightly bitter after taste, making it better for tea and not other sweet dishes, but who cares as long as it is zero cals. Lol.

Damn I'm low-key debating if sacrificing that bitterness for calories is the best choice or not, is there a way to breed the plant for it to not have the bitter aftertaste? 😂

The bitter after taste isn't that bad, it kind of tastes like honey red tea and not that strong.

You need an organic compound to create what we detect as flavor. Water is composed of 2 inorganic atoms, hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen is the nuclear equivalent of ultraviolet radiation in space, which is not capable of flavor (or any detectable qualities).

A lot of water has been treated by chemicals to make it potable and the minerals in it also contribute to a "flavour" that is more pleasant than the pure stuff (not rainwater as that tends to have pollen, dust, pollution in it) that comes from evaporation mainly or the burning of hydrogen in air.
