Does gender matter when choosing a massage therapist?

I am going to make an appointment for my first therapeutic massage. I have never had one before. When choosing a massage therapist, does gender matter? Why or why not? I am asking this question because that was one of my sign up questions for the massage. I don't know if there are advantages of disadvantages of either since I have never had one.

There's no difference between the two.

The reason they ask is for your comfort level. Some women may not be comfortable with a man touching them, and so they offer you the option to choose.

Somewhat, mostly the amount of pressure that your therapist can apply. The best thing to do is to try a few and find one that you like.
