How to get over fear of the shot?

So I'm planning to get the flu shot for once..
How can one get over their fear of the needle from the flu shot?
Also have you ever got sick from taking it?
I had the flu itself back in March and was the sickest I ever been in my entire life.. (Even worse than covid for me).

I did get sick from taking it but this was back in the late 70s when they still use live virus. I still won't take it. I had whooping cough for two years as if my mother and sister. We had to wait for it to pass before we could come to the United States cause we couldn't make it on the airplane with our lungs all congested.

Ask them to use a butterfly needle when you get your shot. They are a lot smaller than a regular needle.

I hate needles too, but I just sit down, make a fist, clench my teeth and think, „let’s get this over with“. Three minutes later I’m out of the door again and can reward myself with a nice slice of cake at the bakery.

Big Pharma makes money of the sick... not the healty. You will be sicker amd sicker every time you take their poison. Then you will be fooled into taking it every year... so you dont get sick again. Bit you will more and more each year. I have only been sick twice in my life. No bull shit. I have never been vaccinated and I dont take medicine

I haven't had the shot since I was little and can say for a fact, I don't agree as like tamiflu helped me feel better sooner when I had the flu and I feel like I might have not got so sick if my body had the shot and knew how to deal with the actual flu.
That was my first time in my life catching the flu and I was almost emergency room level sick.
