Why are more women choosing home births over hospital births?

I saw this article a little while ago and it made me wonder why that's the case. It feels like a step backwards from progress.

Personally, I don't trust the medical profession. Period.

In the olden days, when a woman who was having her baby at the hospital, they would call her doctor and let her doctor know that she's at the hospital in labor.

Then the doctor would go to the hospital and wait there until it was time to deliver the baby.

However, these days the doctors don't have time to wait around, so they do a C-section to speed things up so they can be done with it.

When you choose to have your baby at home, that scenario doesn't happen like I just explained.

Of course we all know that if something should go wrong and you need a doctors and hospitals intervention, you have to be ready to call 911 to get help and get to the nearest hospital. 🏥

Do the research and weigh the options and decide what you feel most comfortable with doing.

if you look at American hospital prices, that makes a lot of sense. in Europe i assume people don't do that.

I have no idea, in hospital they can get some anesthetic, it would be painless.
