Depression flare up after having a stomach flu?

I haven't been so depressed in years but i had a stomach bug for over a week know and im still not feeling that great im getting cramps and bloating and my depression is so bad right know hasn't been this bad since high school. Is it normal for a stomach flu to flare up depression?

I believe that something happened to your system from the flu and caused your depression to flare up again. It's not impossible.

Wouldn’t say it’s common, as depression is psychological and the flu is purely physical, so the two don’t come hand in hand. You should look at your current life and situation and find the real reason for your depression flare up, it won’t be caused by the flu.
