Why do we unanimously think of sand as being yellow when it comes in different colors?

It can be grey/white, black, brown, red.

Same with other things occuring in nature like watermelons. We think of them as pink by default when they can be orange or yellow.

Mud as brown when it can be grey, etc.

Where is proof “we”, as humans, unanimously think this? At the very least, you don’t, making it not unanimous.

Referring to your sand question, I’ve never thought that. Then again, I’ve seen black volcanic sand in Hawaii, white sand in Florida and pink in Bermuda. Guess it isn’t as unanimous as ya thought.

I don't think it's yellow, I've seen different colors of sand (brown, grey, even beige).
