France is a modernized country, so what is so unbearable there, that the suicide rate is outrageously higher?

France has a suicide rate of 13 in 100,000. 130 per million as thousands kill themselves there, each year , but what is so unbearable in a modernized country?

These are not just a huge amount of tragedies and sins, it is far more than other modernized countries for example one has a rate 6.4 but France has double, twice as bad, 13 rate but why?

Also in attempts, a modern sample country, has a rate of 1 in each 1,000 but France has three times worse, 25x13 is more than 3 in each 1,000, far higher, but what is so unbearable there?

Or does this just prove: suicide is purely mental illness, not due to suffering as hinted by low rates in countries of poor and suffering?

Suicide is curiously a privileged behavior. Suicide rates are always higher in developed nations. Places where people literally struggle to survive they suicide less frequently. I subscribe to the idea that when people struggle to survive then they value life more. Those of us who never or rarely struggle are often ill equipped to manage their challenges and failures, and often take their blessings for granted.

I'd much rather be rich than poor. They say money doesn't bring happiness, but it's a lot easier to cry in a Mercedes than it is on a bike.

I have heard that the suicide rate in the US has also risen. I think that modern life goes against the laws of nature. Men are supposed to be hunters. In today's society things that have been natural instincts that have been discouraged. It's not nice to fool around with Mother Nature.
