A friend of mine has an adult daughter who suffers from schizophrenia. She does well when she is staying with the medication but when she stops taking it, she gets delusional and she thinks her dad (my friend) is out to get her. She has injured him numerous times, and then she gets hauled away by the police. He always tells them he isn't going to press charges and then she either gets sent to a psych facility for a week or two, or straight home. The last time this happened was about 6 weeks ago and the police not longer accepted his "I'm not pressing charges" plea, and are prosecuting the case. He has been told numerous times by mental health professionals, friends, and even the police, that someday she might kill him. Very serious stuff.
This lovely lady in the video does a very good job with this. I didn't know that there was a lady doing YouTube videos that attempt to accurately depict mental illness.
I have it and with medication it isn't that bad as long as I take my meds. If I'm off them, then the voices start up and the paranoia is at an all time high.
