How can I protect my eyes and genitals from harsh chlorinated tap water in a rental?

Eyes are so infected, bacterial infections down there because that water gets inside there and gets the eyes.

I know what a water softner is, but, how do you do that at a rented place?

Water softeners have nothing to do with the removal of infectious pathogens from tap water.

It's the job of the chlorine to do that.

I've had water conditioning systems in my homes for 50 years and I like having them.

When I encounter hard water in locations other than at home, I don't care for it, but it doesn't cause infections as long as it's been chlorinated.

You might be ultra-sensitive to hard water, or the disinfectant system that's in use where you're staying may not be up to snuff, or maybe there's something else going on in your body.

If you're on a well water system that serves only the building where you're staying, there could be issues with pathogens.
That'd be up to the property owner to deal with.

If you're in a building that's connected to a municipal water system, the chances of there being pathogens in the water is extremely slim.

Filters are easily available for drinking water or for light handwashing that can handle pathogens and possibly also hard water.
I'm not sure about though, about portable softeners.

For bathing, though, that's a tougher problem to try to deal with, in softening larger volumes of water.

A bathtub could easily be 100 gallons.

A shower?

As a few other people have mentioned, carbon filters will remove chlorine, but not necessarily all pathogens, and carbon won't soften hard water,

You may have to ask the landlord to install an Activated Carbon Filter on your shower head, or you can probably do it yourself.

Water softeners remove limescale not chlorine. Before you buy anything expensive i suggest you buy a water test kit and see if the problem is chlorine or something else.

You need filters for all taps and the showerhead.

You’ll have to buy spring water, the 5 gallons or the gallons and wash your private parts wash your hair and face with it. It’s a pain in the butt but what other choice do you have? If not find another place where they have better water
