How often should you really wash your gym clothes?

Underwear: I change mine twice a day since I usually shower twice a day. After a cardio run I especially remove them ASAP since - if you keep them on for several hours - you are giving bacteria a place to thrive and are allowing them the opportunity to give you a UTI (urinary track infection). Yes , men can get UTI's and even though they are more common in women they will tend to be more difficult to treat in men. II know since I had one that over a month and I think it might be related to one time back in January when I had a very sweaty cardio session and I did not change them right away. Bad mistake. Just keep in mind that your underwear has e. coli in it from the microscopic particles of poop in down there. These will travel faster in soaked with sweat underwear.

Shirts: If it is cardio I will let it dry for a day and then to the hamper the next day. As for just a weight lifting session I will reuse it one more time since I don't sweat that much.

Socks: One use only and to the hamper.

Shorts: Cardio = dry for a day and then to the hamper. Weight lifting only: I will reuse one more time.

Either way - I always shower twice a day. That alone helps to reduce infections.

I don't sweat, nor do I go to the gym. Plus it's always cold in England. So yes, my clothes don't get unpleasant. I just change them as normal for home workouts (which are intensive 2 hour calisthenics).

When I used to do martial arts, and we'd spar/wrestle, to be fair, yes, I'd sweat a little there. So every time for that.

Anything I wear to the gym once is too gross to wear again without washing them. I'm not there to just casually walk on the treadmill for a few minutes lol

Shirts, every time. Maybe I'll let one get a second day if I'm going the next day.

Sweats, once or twice a week. I'll kinda just throw them in with another wash whenever it's convenient.
