Did you ever have an ingrown toenail?

I used to get them a lot when I was growing up. I had to be careful how I cut my toenails and f I got one I used to pry up the bad side of the toenail and stuff cotton under it until it grew out. Once it got so bad that I had to have the doctor cut it. I have not had one in decades but they were pretty painful.

Yes, get them on the inside front corners of both big toes. Can be quite painful. Did you see a podiatrist to deal with yours?

I just saw a regular doctor and he squeezed all the pus out of it and then cut back the nail. He put lambs wool under it. The nail grew back normal.

we had a chiropodist in town he had two cars. the license plates said FOOT" on onevcar snd :TOE" on the other

Yes! When I was 18 and out pounding the pavement looking for a job I got one.

I also had a go to the doctor and the memories of that doctor visit still haunts me to this day. What a terrifying experience that was!

He gave me several shots all around my big toe to numb the entire toe. Those shots hurt like a M----- F-----!

Then he said to me "If you think that was bad, you better lay down and not look at what I am going to do next."

So I laid down and I heard this buzz sound and then a think! He took half of my toenail off and it was bleeding through the all of the gauze he wrapped around it.

I went to the doc whn it was too painful to walk. He squeezed all the pus out of it and then cut the nail back. The part of the nail that he removed looked like a little spear. I had to soak it a couple of times a day an change the dressing.

You're lucky that yours didn't give you nightmares like mine did.
But ingrown toenails really do need to be completely numb because it hurts way too much to be touched even slightly.

Yes. I got fungus under both big toe nails from the showers in high school. I stupidly ignored it for a long time. But it eventually made both toe nails arch and the sides dug into my toes. It was super painful.
I went to the doctor and he removed both nails. He did something to keep the sides from growing back. So when the nails grew back, they were narrower than normal. But I got rid of the fungus.

I had this twice.. because of sports and then again, because of sports, lmao

we had a nurse, deal with it... and then I got a pedicure weeks later, problem solved... never happened again

i never had. I have pretty good genes. But I also eat really well/healthy.

I used to pry the nail up and stuff cotton underneath the nail until it grew out. I used to get them a lot but all of a sudden they stopped. I do not know why but I sure am glad.

Yes, when I was in my teens. At one point I had to go into hospital to get them removed.
