It would more than likely melt before you are found and when you are found they will only see that you died from lack of oxygen more than likely but the killer ice cube would be gone, would they just assume it was an ice cube? 😂

If you choke from that ice cube, you are likely going to fall to the ground. Depending on the body position, the ice cube will melt and go into your lungs since you don't have control over your muscles anymore and the gag reflex. This lack of gag reflex will prevent the epiglottis to fold down to cover the larynx and leave the windpipe open for the water to penetrate the lungs.

A quick forensic analysis of the water in the lungs would probably result in findings about the quality of the water that may match the one used to make that ice cube.

Its pretty rare to actually die from choking on ice, it melts pretty fast at body temp. But if you are incredibly unfortunate there would be signs. Swelling in the esophagus, potential water in the lungs, damage from ice burns

Ice big, esophagus small. There would be signs, bruising etc. When you die any swelling or bruising won't disappear as fast as your blood is no longer pumping. The only way people may not know is if you weren't found for a very long time and your body was already in decomp

I had this happen before! I’m thinking maybe my body temperature made it melt fast than I had the chance to process and react lol it also wasn’t a very big piece of ice. Still kinda scary in the moment though😭

Microscopically, the tissue of your larnyx or trachea would show constricted blood vessels. An autopsy is not gross examination only, Gross appearances lead to microscopic examination. .
