Both the catholic and protestant bible say that God uses pain to help you learn wisdom or to elevate you from a low condition into a higher one, but Jesus said, that if you pursue God, God can reduce your pain and give you increased strength so you can handle the problems you have.

I don't have pain but at times I wish there was an off button to keep it from racing. Exercise, sex or a warm shower helps me.
