Why would someone go to drug and alcohol rehab 7 times in a year?

So I seen this guy, he’s been in drug and alcohol rehab 7 times since December. I’m not gonna talk shit being I’ve gone there too, so I’d Amit, I got problems with alcohol myself. But 7 times since December, why do you think that is, just really struggling to stay clean or maybe it his way to socialize with others and just a lonely person. I just want to hear your thoughts.
