Definitely. Not everyone who drinks alcohol is a drunk. Taken in moderation alcohol is fairly harmless. Smoking puts actual soot into your lungs the organs you need to breathe with. If you've ever looked inside a wood stove it's covered with soot. If you touch it you'll be covered in pitch black dirty soot. That's what's happening to your lungs. Smoking is one of the stupidest habits I've ever heard of. Vaping is putting all kinds of garbage in your lungs too. Also a really stupid thing to do.

Smokers tend to smoke every day. Casual drinkers might drink once a week, so the impact on the body is less.

No. Its damage is concentrated on the throat and lungs, while alcohol damages the whole body, including the CNS.
