How can I safely stay cool working outside in extreme heat?

I'm a high voltage splicer and this heat have me pondering a career change

Depends where you live. If it’s a country that always experiences these types of heat then a career change would be ideal but if it’s a country that gets very little heat (UK) then stick the job out and always have a bottle of water or three handy and try and get some shade time at some point if you can

Set up a canopy so that you’re not in direct sunlight. Get yourself two of those gel neckerchiefs. Soak them in ice water. Wear one while the other is refreshing. Take frequent breaks and drink plenty of water. Get yourself one of those personal fans.

Stay hydrated, maybe have an ice pack in a cooler to put on your head during a break. Is there any chance of starting your workday earlier before it gets too hot? Stay safe out there!

Stat hydrated. I had to wear a boiler suit for a job in the heat with a respirator. I went commando underneath.

wear loose fitting 100% cotton clothes, drink plenty of water think of winter

I can hydrate but the clothing is the problem cause everything has to be (FR) Fire Resistant

Do you have to wear nomex like firefighters or can you wear 100% cotton like welders?

Cotton is not fire retardant. It actually bursts into flames in a flashover event. No bueno.

@Chazmatazz269 Cotton /polyester will melt and cause burns. 100% cotton will burn but not melt, this is why welders wear it.
