Why is my period late if I’m not pregnant?

There is no way I’m pregnant because I have a copper IUD so what can be reasons why I’m late on my period? My hormones are fine! What else can this be?

Stress, illness (flu, virus infection etc), weight issues (overweight or underweight), poor nutrition, lack of sleep or just random late oculate or anovulatory cycle which would of course delay the period. This happens to almost all women sometimes and is normal (as long as it’s not more often than about 1-2 cycles a year) even if you always have regular cycles otherwise.

Even if your hormone panels are normal and you use a non-hormonal copper IUD, your period can be delayed by temporary ovulation shifts. Common culprits include high physical or emotional stress, sudden weight shifts, intense exercise changes, recent travel, or a mild illness like a fever earlier in your cycle
