Have you ever experienced a wildfire near your home like this?

Started yesterday afternoon on top of a mountain next to my house and came all the way down into the valley pretty bad

We had wild fires 🔥🚒 happening back in the early 2000's and it was only 5 miles from my apartment.

That may not seem very close, but that fire started in The Inland Empire, jumped the freeway and spread as far as Malibu, California and beyond.

It could have very easily hit my apartment building.

Yes. My house caught fire once from a grass fire that spread in our region. The planes dropped fire retardant everywhere. We didn’t lose the entire house (just one side of it), but all of the contents were destroyed by the smoke.

No didn't evacuate I was supposed to but I wasn't going to leave my house and I mean I was safe so I had many different ways to get out of there if I had to

Not as bad. We've had quite a lot of wild grass fires in the UK recently. The only big one I saw was across the sea on a headland. Made it look like a volcano.

Nothing that close to home, but the skies have been clouded with smoke and soot so heavily that you could stare straight into the sun without blinking.

Just yesterday, a fire broke out on a hill opposite our house, and the teams responded immediately. The fire looked very disgusting and frightening. I hope the fire was extinguished without any animals getting hurt.

Nothing that drastic. The largest fire I know of was ironically in the trash destructor plant.

We were surrounded by bushfires a few years ago. It was so bad it made the news all around the world.

Never this close. But ash literally fell from the sky and the sky was red in 2020 in California it was nightmarish

Never experienced it but I live like an hour away from the one thats recently going on. Went outside yesterday and you can smell the smoke and see the smokey fog.

I live in Southern California. We are fortunate enough to have what I believe to be the best firefighters in the world. That said, we got fires that are so massive that even our professional firefighters struggle to extinguish some very dangerous brush fires. You can smell it in the air for Miles and went away and it is terrifying.

Very and at the same time adrenaline kicks in and it takes over and you figure out all the ways to get out before you get in and you just go you take care of business however you have to do it to save everything but it's fire it happens fast and you have to be able to think fast and move fast and be prepared for anything and everything and you have to have that sensor inside of you it says it's now go now and you have to follow through you cannot even mess around but I was lucky I was very lucky and everything was saved more or less
