More than any one single other factor, yes. The thing is that there are hundreds- if not thousands- of other factors.

Example- Diet is not really a single factor. It is more a category- a combination of factors- carb to protein ratio, % of fats, fat types, sweeteners used (over 50 kinds, folks), rate of consumption (how fast one eats), total calories vs calories burned, etc.

So, those "individual" factors build up really quickly. But you only have one set of genes. ( I got stuck with congenital flat feet and few other things that I just have to live with and try to minimize or for which I must compensate).

mostly? no... because that would imply, that this one factor alone could be more important than others, and it is not

good genetics are a great start-up... but everything will deteriorate over time, so...

you can't have one without the others... lol

I agree with one poster and not the other. Generics plays a big roll in longevity. Just like that person says, family history with diseases and conditions effect you and siblings greatly.

Just look at health odds from so many studies. It is plain as day that it does have an impact on outlook foe subsequent offspring.

More than any other factor, yes.

But that doesn't mean ypu can live your life pissing in the devil's eye and think you're going to live to a ripe old age. Likewise. Maintaining health an getting ahead of things can add years to your life.

It plays a role, but there are also lifestyle and environmental factors—such as diet, exercise, sleep, stress, social connection, and healthcare.

Yes, my parents died relatively young but both had siblings that lived into their 90s. I am trying to make my own life expectancy. So far so good.

Almost always. My friend’s grandpa lived until 97, and for the last 7 years he basically lived off cheap cigarettes and instant cappuccino

I would not lister to the other, current opinion. If your family has a predisposition to cancers or other diseases, it affects longevity.

      That is bad, bad advice.
