The internet states the following about milky mushrooms:
"It is an excellent source of high quality protein 32.2% protein (dry weight basis) in a medium sized milky mushroom and vitamins (especially Vitamin B) and Vitamin D if sun exposed. Its high fiber content (61.1% on dry weight basis) makes it excellent for stomach related ailments. Total carbohydrates reported is 59.9% and very less crude fat 0.67% . It has nutraceutical properties and extracts of milky mushroom has shown to control diabetes in rats. Milky white mushroom also has lower moisture content (85.6%) and increased fiber content (61.1% on dry weight basis)"
I am sure you could have found this information on the internet, just like I did.
Source: internet
Never had them and there is always lot of marketing material in internet that glorifies some products but it's not necessarily true.
Personally I wouldn't look for those milky mushrooms in forest even if they grew here, because they can be easily confused with death caps. Death caps native to Europe expanded over the world due wood exports and grow even in tropical regions. It's deadly poisonous and even a small 1x1cm piece can destroy a human liver in few days.
Like those immigrants on the way to promised land.
But milky mushrooms leak juice when damaged, which makes it exceptionally easy to distinguish from death caps.
We have at least 20 mushroom species in our forests which taste good but look similar to death cap and death angel cap. All of them ere easily distinguishable from poisonous species but still lot of people die every year due poisoning. Often people who are living close to forests and collect mushroom very often, who are experts in recognizing of mushroom species die because they collect those dangerous mushrooms
I had to look this up. From what I found the difference is negligible at best. It said that milky mushrooms are 3.0-3.9 grams. Compare that to regular white mushrooms at 3.1 g per 100 g then it isn't much better.
If you want something that is high in protein, I wouldn't look to mushrooms for it. Even if vegan, nuts would give you more I am pretty certain.
Google says it is high protein.
A little bit, yes
