Does money buy lasting happiness, or do we eventually adapt to wealth?

The first time I had a fruit smoothie, I was amazed by how amazing it tasted. But after my 10th drink in one summer, it was just like drinking regular water, the taste I loved so much was now just very mild in flavour.

Research says that after 1 year, newly one-year paralyzed people have the same happiness rating as newly one year ago lotto winners.

And this is due to the fact, that you adapt to your financial situation and it no longer brings you joy and happiness. And an extremely large fraction of lottery winners are murdered or die by suicide later on.

One of my friends is far richer than me, and she gets 25 spam calls every day from scammers who want to steal her money...

So yes, you do get to eat better food when you have paper-based riches, but you also have to work crazy hard to keep your wealth.

i suppose is lots of stuff one could do with there money , is this restaurant on the lake here , years ago ( 2019ish ) a draft beer was like $10 now its like $15 plus tax and tip so like $20 , how could anyone afford to pay $20 for 1 beer as a lot of people when they go out have 2 or 3 so that be like $60 just on beer?

was an older guy who won $90,000 on a lotto ticket here , but lately he seems really depressed , wondered if his wife died or something , haven't seen him for a bit wonder if he's even still around , used to see him at convenience stores buying more tickets but started to act weird and was picking up cigarette butts on parking lot to clean it

Money can buy stuff that make us happy, but only people who know how to manage money can really be happy with their wealth.
Ignorant people just waste money on useless stuff.
