I finally got an answer last month when I did got a second opinion on my autism diagnosis and I went on Prosper Health with a real psychologist and it was on Telehealth which is a real place where people get diagnosed with autism and it isn’t a scam. It was an actual autism assessment that was an hour an a half each for two days. The results were that based on the findings of the evaluation, I do not meet the diagnostic criteria for autism spectrum disorder. Instead it said, “I endorsed some challenges present in childhood, but she did not indicate functional challenges. It appears that these traits, which can look similar to autism features, may stem from my intellectual functioning and cognitive challenges, from symptoms of anxiety, and symptoms of depression, rather than from autism. However, only further testing can fully confirm this.” It’s weird that they said this because my in person evaluations always showed that I had autism. What are your thoughts? Was I really misdiagnosed?

I think I'd be confused too, especially if multiple in person evaluations previously diagnosed you with autism. 💗 I wouldn't automatically dismiss either opinion, though. Autism can overlap with anxiety, depression, and other challenges, so I'd want to understand why the assessments reached different conclusions. I'd ask the psychologist to review your previous evaluations and explain the differences. You deserve a clear answer, not more confusion. One assessment doesn't necessarily mean the others were wrong.
You'll need in person confirmation. I'd want a hard copy of their findings, too, to present to your doctor.
Why an in person confirmation?
Further testing is needed they said, so I assume it is an in person face to face type situation.
How many accounts are you going to use to keep asking this shit?

Why? Do you trust it?
More opinions is better than one if they all say you’re autistic then I guess you aren’t if one doctor says you’re not then I guess you
Aren’t
No I said one doctor said I wasn’t and the rest said I was. What does that tell you?
Go with the doctor that said you weren’t
Most places, docs suck at diagnosing autism.
